Apply for funding
The Olivia Hodson Cancer Fund supports paediatric cancer research, treatment, nursing care and family wellbeing at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health.
We focus particularly on early-stage work that is too small or too novel to attract funding from larger grant-giving bodies - often the pump-priming that establishes a basis for larger breakthroughs later.
You can save your application and come back to it at any time - return to a saved application.
We accept applications all year round. There is no call for applications running at the moment, so your application will be considered at the next meeting of the Funding Award Committee rather than against a deadline.
Before you start
Applications are accepted from researchers, clinicians and allied health professionals at GOSH and the UCL Institute of Child Health, using a GOSH or UCL email address. Each applicant may submit one application per call.
You will need:
- a full costing for the project
- an R&D registration number, if it is a research project - equipment, a service, or an activity such as Get Active does not need one
- the name and email address of an external peer reviewer to suggest - someone at a different institution, so not your supervisor, an advisor or anyone in your working group. Please let them know you have given us their details.
- your full scientific proposal as a PDF, if you have one, for the reviewers
Please don't include anything that could identify a patient, either in your answers or in a file you attach.
The guidance explains what the Fund supports, how applications are assessed and what happens if you are funded. We read every application, but we cannot fund them all, and the committee's decision is final.
